Law partners Donald Ramsell and Michelle Behan announced they are combining their legal experience and knowledge to create the law firm, The Behan Law Group, P.L.L.C. in Tucson, Arizona. Focused on providing representation to individuals charged with DUI and other criminal offenses, the partners bring a wealth of courtroom knowledge and case success to the table.

Mr. Donald Ramsell is a highly-regarded DUI and criminal defense attorney with more than 30 years of experience. Mr. Ramsell has argued a number of high profile cases over the years that resulted in major changes in how DUI cases are pursued and prosecuted. He is a prominent member of a number of industry organizations, author of several books and articles addressing the nuances of successful DUI defense, and a frequently sought-after speaker on the subject at seminars and workshops across the country. Mr. Ramsell is widely acknowledged throughout the legal community as having almost single-handedly recreated the way in which attorneys defend DUI charges. He is a 1984 law school graduate of DePaul University, Chicago, Illinois.

Over the course of his career, Mr. Ramsell’s work has been the subject of several news articles and television features, including appearances on 20/20, The Oprah Winfrey Show, Fox News’ Hannity & Colmes and several others. Mr. Ramsell frequently is asked to speak before his peers, and has presented to groups across the country including, the National College for DUI Defense, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, and many others. His professional memberships include several Bar associations, the U.S. Supreme Court Historical Society, American Academy of Forensic Sciences and the National College for DUI Defense, among many others. The DuPage Bar Association named him its “Outstanding Author” for 1992-1993, and he has earned a Martindale Hubbell AV Preeminent Rating every year since 2012.

Ms. Michelle Behan is an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Navy and former Special Agent for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, during which time she was nationally recognized by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children for her efforts in an international parental kidnapping case. Ms. Behan graduated from the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law in 2013. While in law school, Ms. Behan was one of the first students involved with the Veteran’s Treatment Court at Tucson City Court. Based on her advocacy of veterans at this court, Ms. Behan was selected by the University to present an amicus curiae brief on behalf of a wounded warrior to the Court of Appeals for the U.S. Armed Forces, the highest military court in the United States. Ms. Behan successfully argued for the results of an illegal search to be suppressed in that case. After graduation, Ms. Behan gained her initial experience as an Assistant Public Defender at the Tucson City Public Defender’s Office and was awarded the 2015 Tucson Women’s Commission Rising Star Award. She successfully argued a number of Constitutional challenges in DUI cases and defeated several appellate challenges by the State of Arizona.
